This form uses the QVA Automated Pilot Despatch and Logging System and requires a password for each pilot. Change your password here.

  1. Flight bids are requests to the QVA server for flights members would like to make and later log.
  2. A Pilot Number and Password are needed but be aware that they are case sensitive (ie use all capital letters in the pilot number).
  3. Enter only valid IATA (three-letter code) or ICAO (four-letter code) airport identifiers in the space for bids. (See the Destinations page for these codes.)
eg a flight from Brisbane to Coffs Harbour would be entered in one of two ways:
        YBBN-YSCH
        BNE-CFS
eg a flight from Sydney to Newcastle to Coffs Harbour would be entered in one of two ways:
        YSSY-YWLM-YSCH
        SYD-NTL-CFS
  4. Note that a new QVA pilot may only Bid for a flight that uses Cat I aircraft (Shorts 360, B1900, Metro 3 and Dash-8) until a check ride is passed with the Chief Flight Instructor.
  5. Bid codes must be typed without any spaces.

To avoid being removed from the roster due to inactivity you may  type the following bid to take leave or holidays:    LEAVE    If typed alone APDLS will automatically assume a period of 14 days.  If you required a longer period, type the required  number of days with a MAXIMUM of 30 days after the word leave.  The following bid will give you 4 weeks off without worry of roster removal. Please note there is a space between LEAVE and 28:

    LEAVE 28

NOTE: Leave is not a tool for keeping inactive pilots on the roster.  Pilots approaching 60 days of inactivity will still  be removed when they reach 60 days of inactivity unless prior approval has been granted by QVA management.

  6. It is a good idea to copy and paste flights assigned by APDLS into a document saved on your computer as it will make it easier  when preparing to make the flight report once you have flown those flights.
  7. Remember to note the time of departure (having reset the simulator time to the assigned flight departure time) and the time the flight ends at the destination terminal as well as the fuel burn for the flight. All of this information is needed for the flight report later.
