Altimeter Setting Rules
Transition altitude - 10,000ft : For cruising at or below the trasition altitude, the altimeter
reference shall be Area QNH.
Transition level - FL110 : For cruising at and above the transition level, the standard pressure
altitude setting of 1013.2Hpa must be used.
NOTE : Cruising within the transition layer is not permitted


Alternative Airports
When a flight is required to provide for an alternative airport,any airport may be nominated for
that flight provided:
A) it is suitable as a destination for that flight; and
B) is not an airport for which that flight would require to provide for a alternative airport.
Wx Conditions: A alternative airport is required when the following conditions are present:
A) Cloud - more than 4/8ths below the alternative minimum
B) Visibility - less than the alternative minimum
C) Wind - a xwind or downwind component more than the maximum for the aircraft


Flight Under IFR
An a/c operating under IFR :
A) The maximum time interval between positive fixes must not exceed 2 hours

Flight Under VFR
A) When operating at or below 2000ft, the pilot in command must be able to navigate by visual
reference to the ground or water.
B) When navigating by visual reference to the ground or water, the PIC must positively fix the
a/c's position on topographical charts at intervals not exceeding 30 minutes.


Minimum Cruise Levels
An aircraft must not fly over:
A) any city, town or populous area, at a height lower than 1000 feet: or
B) any other area at a height lower than 500 feet.

Rights Of Way

1. An aircraft towing an object or an airship, glider, balloon or any other non-powered aircraft has right of way over power driven-aircraft.
2. Always give way to the aircraft on your right/starboard.
3. If for any reason an aircraft needs to be overtaken, the aircraft being overtaken has right of way.
4.Always turn to the right if approaching head on with another aircraft.
5. An aircraft which is on final approach is landing has right of way.
