A330-202 VH-EBI in new Qantas Livery!! and how about the Qantas Q400 in Breast Cancer Awareness livery - the pink nose. Its called other things which are a bit rude but the message is quite clear and such a great way to bring to everyones attention exactly what a problem Breast Cancer is.
Qantas Freight
you might have noticed a welcome addition to our active fleet perhaps?? Perhaps not, but here it is again anyway Yes a dedicated 747-400 Freighter. As its available right now. Routes are also available from the 747-400 freighter page.
And (yes i keep this one here as its an important addition and i want everyone to get it!!) We have finally found an AVRO 504K!! - YES - a fully working AVRO 504K in Qantas colours! Seriously!!
YOU HAVE GOT TO GET THIS HISTORIC QANTAS AIRCRAFT. It takes 3 downloads - a avro 504k base pack, an update to that pack and the textures of course. Its an easy process and well worth it for such an historic Qantas aircraft. Its sort of like an early christmas present for you! Enjoy. Go to the AVRO 504k page now ...... oh, and just to remind you - most
questions on all things "QVA" can be answered in the
QVA Operations Manual -
its a must for all QVA
pilots and new member information

QVA Flight Charter idea's!!
Cat 1 and getting bored with it? You can request a charter in the
QVA forums and fly any aircraft anywhere!
The Southern Cross at Brisbane Airport
Recreate the crossing of the Pacific 75 years ago in a QAL 737-800 or in the "Southern Cross"! How?? click right here!!
When in Brisbane, take a couple of minutes and before you get to the terminal at the round about about 2 km from the domestic terminal, (actually just past the international terminal), drop in and visit the Southern Cross!! Its well worth it! (picture above)
......
And a very special QVA charter idea right here. You could fly your 707 as John Travolta flies his 707!
YES!! Fly any John Travolta 707 "N707JT" flight in real time with N707JT online or offline - its entirely up to you!! Just request in the forum with the details found here. This link is the actual flight path and all details - live! You can of course fly it at your convenience with the details at the link above too if you want to!! The picture of John Travolta above links direct to his personal web site.
You will need the 707 Basepack and the N707JT textures from Historic Jertliners Group though. And whilst you are there, dont forget to get the panel, sounds and effects - you will not regret it!! Visit HJG now.
......
NO?
How about this one then?
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Kangaroo route between Australia and the United Kingdom fly one of the following routes:

Sydney - Darwin - Singapore - Calcutta - Karachi - Cairo - Tripoli - London.
The Connie overnighted in Singapore and Cairo arriving in London some 93 hours later. The 747 does that now in 23! But at the time that was a very quick, although tiring trip. If a Connie and a 747 were to take off at the same time in Sydney, the 747 would be landing in London at the same time as the Constellation was landing in Bangkok! And the same 747 would be back in Sydney just as the Connie was landing in London! On a return flight, the Connie would spend 24 hours on the ground during stopovers, longer than the entire time a 747 was in the air! Progress is wonderful isnt it? Many of us have flown this actual route in a 747. I thought the 23 hour trip (mine was with a 1 hour stopover in Singapore) was a real pain. Imagine taking 93 to do the same!
and before the Connies were the Flying Boats like the S23!

hows this for a trip.
Sydney - Bowen - Darwin - Surabuya - Singapore - Rangoon - Calcutta - Karachi - Bahrein - Basra - Cairo - Augusta - Marseilles - London
PHEW!! This will take you until Christmas! :-)
Standard Charter requests in the forum please if you want to have a go at either of these historic flights. Why not do one in the Constellation and one in a 747 and compare and post your comments in the forum?
.....
what about this one then?? check the fuselage on this picture.

its not as easy as it seems!! Our brand new :-) Qantas Lancastrian is ready for you
......
Ok then, how about a round trip - to Antartica?

Depart Sydney or Melbourne in a 747 on a sightseeing flight to Antartica and return. Dont forget your camera for some screenshots!
APDLS and Password Maintenance

It's good practice to change your password periodically. Change your QVA password here!! also useful if you have forgotten your password.
Ready for your check ride to go to the next aircraft category level? Check all the requirements and CR instructions at QVA Training
Category Promotions are automatic within each category but you will need to sit a Check ride before promotion to the next Category which if you pass will give you access to longer flights and more aircraft choices to fly. You can also fly any aircraft that is in a lower category and the hours will count toward your current category!
| RANK | HOURS (CAT I - III) |
HOURS (CAT IV - V & PS1) |
|
| Third Officer/Training | 0 Hours | 0 Hours | |
| Second Officer | 15 Hours | 30 Hours | |
| First Officer | 30 Hours | 60 Hours | |
| Captain | 45 Hours | 90 Hours | |
In essence you need 60 hours flown in each category 1, 2 and 3 (this means 60 hours in your current category - total hours do not count toward eligiblity for check rides) before you are eligible for the next higher cat, but you will need 120 in cat 4 for eligibility to sit the cat 5 check ride
