The 717 was not an initial Qantas buy. They became a part of the Qantas fleet when Impulse was bought out, and then rolled over into Qantaslink fleet before Jetstar was born and the 717 was utilised until the A320 was actually delivered. They were and still are a valuable fleet asset and still fly the flag for the QAL group of companies but now in Jetstar livery. As Jetstars A320's are delivered, the 717's are being transferred back to Qantaslink and replacing most of the Bae146 routes in Western Australia. Of interest is that the 717 was painted white between Qantaslink colours (red and white kangaroo) and the Jetstar livery. These files are also available for download on the links in this paragraph.
