Full Australian regional, Australian and New Zealand domestic, and all International passenger routes are covered in QVA's Passenger route listings. Each route is separated into specific QVA aircraft categories, so it is easy to pick the route you want to fly, to any QVA destination(s) you can legally bid for (within your specific aircraft categorisation). Just click the above link to check out our full Pax listings.

Domestic freight and mail services within Australia are provided by Australian air Express (AaE), a joint venture between Qantas and Australia Post. AaE uses Qantas domestic passenger flights as well as a 727's, BaE146's and Metro 3 Australian air Express freighter aircraft. All AaE flights are now active through APDLS. Just pick your chosen Freight Route (or you can search for XME in our schedule browser!!) then in a normal bid just pull down the dropdown menu and choose "freight assignments". You will receive a normal scheduled assignment as now freight flights are handled automatically through APDLS.
Disclaimer: The Cat 1 routes you see on the Flight Routes page for AAE freighters are not real Metro Routes as no information could be obtained from various sources on the actual routes they fly, so as a result, they are fictional. The Cat 2 (14F) and Cat 3 (727) routes are modelled on actual routes found in an article in the "Australian Aviation" Magazine.

QVA is the only VA that allows you to turn back time and fly a Historic flights like our QANTAS pioneers used to. Feel like taking the Super Constellation back to the Far East in the 1960's? You can at QVA. We have the most extensive QAL liveried fleet on the internet available for download.
WHY SHOULD I DO AN HISTORIC FLIGHT?
A couple of reasons for that. The difference is astounding flying by hand "all the way" instead of hitting that autopilot button. You get a feel for the aircraft, and, there is nothing like taking a DC3 for a spin. Your hours (if you choose the same category historic aircraft) will increase dramatically. It takes longer for the DC3 to get from Melbourne to Sydney via Canberra than the Dash 8 does!! Ever landed and taken off from the wet stuff? Its tricky and a lot different than the harder stuff.
Go and have a look at the QVA Historic Aircraft download page
Our historic flights are instantly available through APDLS. Just go to the Historic Routes page, check out which route you want to fly, and when you bid, pull down the drop down box and choose historic flight. IT'S THAT EASY!!
Charters, FUTURE, Special and International Events

All QVA aircraft are available for charter services between Australia and most major cities worldwide. Charter movements typically consist of large volumes of single commodities or special event shipments, such as livestock, stage equipment & artworks. Special Event movements are also often are carried on single or multiple scheduled services, providing the required capacity and special handling required for such movements. You may request a random charter or specify where you want to fly to if you want to recreate a specific flight you have heard about. This can be a Boeing delivery flight for B737-800's or A330's or any other event the Qantas have or will participate in. This category is also especially good for online fly-in events at Vatsim or IVAO so you wont lose your acquired hours. Charters are available by request only at this stage. We have recently instigated stand alone charters that give our Virtual Pilots some static choices that are yet to be made active in APDLS. Since these flights are not APDLS covered, you have to request them prior to flying them and send your pirep via email. To request a charter just post a request in the QVA Forum. We will get back to you a.s.a.p. !
Do my hours count in a charter flight
Yes, and no. Simply put, if you are a cat 2 pilot, you can bid for and have counted toward your cat hours any cat 1 and 2 aircraft flight. A cat 3 pilot can fly any cat 1,2,or 3 aircraft and have his/her hours counted toward both cat and total hours. If you are a cat 1 pilot, if you bid for a flight using a higher grade of aircraft (cat 2 or above), your hours will only be counted toward your total hours only - not your cat hours. Any flight in a future acquisitions aircraft is counted toward total hours only - regardless of your current category level. So if you get bored and want to fly a 747 or the A380 for a while, those hours will not be wasted. You can keep adding to your total hours column as you see fit, but your cat totals will only be increased within your current category of aircraft. You are not stuck with 1 type of aircraft at QVA.
